1960s Decade
The 1960s decade refers to the years from January 1, 1960 to December 31, 1969, inclusive. The Sixties has also come to refer to the complex of inter-related cultural and political events which occurred in approximately that period, in Western countries, particularly Britain, France, the United States and West Germany. The decade was also labeled the Swinging Sixties because of the libertine attitudes that emerged during this decade.
